A permanent link between Earth and space








Twenty years after Yuri Gagarin, on the 12 April 1981, the space shuttle Columbia left Earth.
The crew was composed of John W. Young, commander ; Robert L. Crippen, pilot ; with a backup crew composed of Joseph H. Engle, commander and Richard H. Truly, pilot.
